aftercare:

with second skin

  • Congrats on your new tattoo! I have applied a clear bandage on your tattoo to protect your new ink. Shower like you normally would but avoid scrubbing the area. It is completely normal to see plasma and blood underneath the bandage. Hot tubs, steam rooms and swimming pools should be avoided for up to 4 weeks. Direct sun exposure should be avoided.

Vigorous workouts is not recommended at this time but if you really want to, please remove the bandage and refer to my aftercare instructions for healing without second skin.

  • In the shower, carefully remove the clear bandage off your tattoo. Gently wash your tattoo with soap and pat dry with a clean towel. Apply a thin layer of unscented lotion to your tattoo.

To avoid bacterial infections, I recommend you gently wash your tattoo a few times a day. Use unscented lotion after you wash your tattoo.

  • Today, you will see your tattoo slowly settling into your skin. Seeing some skin flaking is completely normal. If it is itchy, don’t scratch or pick at it! You can apply some lotion, if you notice is it dry. Tattoos are fully healed in the skin at 4-5 weeks.

    • Handle your fresh tattoo with washed hands

    • Don’t scratch or pick at your tattoo

    • Keep your adorable pets away while healing

    • Gently wash - Never scrub

    • Avoid over-moisturizing so your tattoo can breathe

    • Avoid direct sunlight

    • No hot tubs, steam rooms and swimming pools for 4-5 weeks
